"Villa Amapas is a tropical paradise with a spectacular setting on a lovely cove beach. Our entire vacation experience was exceptional! We were met at the airport and whisked away to the Villa Amapas which is about 20 minutes from the airport. We were warmly greeted by Miguel, the house manager, and entered the house, walking down thick stone stairs through lush tropical landscaping. The home is built in traditional Mexican style with thick, stone walls and floors, but with a contemporary, open floor plan. The rooms are colorful, with amazing local artwork. The bedrooms are each individually decorated, very private, and all have glorious views. The pool and patio are open to the house, but private from the beach and surroundings. The lush landscaping and plantings makes Villa Amapas particularly unique and appealing The house cook, Lupita, was anxious to please and her enchiladas, chile rellenos and chicken mole were absolutely the best! She was very attentive to the children and they loved her meals. She was always sure to leave us with handmade tortillas, salsa and guacamole should we need a nibble. Miguel served generous margaritas and pina coladas – the virgin variety was a real hit with the little boys! We couldn't absorb enough of the atmosphere and chose to eat all our meals on the patio, overlooking the patio, pool and beach. Dinner afforded us incredible views of spectacular sunsets – each night brought a new vista. The beach was just a flight of steps from the patio. We spent hours playing in the waves and searching the beach for shells. There were tide pools where we even found an eel! Every day brought a new adventure. The beach was exceptionally clean (cleaned daily) and was patrolled by guards and a lifeguard. We walked into town several times – along the beach, skirting several coves. The hike is not long, but does require a bit of climbing. Cooper, one of our grandsons, celebrated his 7th birthday at Villa Amapas, and it will be a birthday to remember. Miguel, very generously arranged for a special "traditional" Mexican piñata (made of clay covered with paper mache0 for the celebration. The boys had a wonderful time trying to break the piñata and loved all the unique Mexican candies (many made their way home to share with friends at school). This was an unforgettable family vacation made perfect in every way by the attentiveness and caring of the staff! "

"The only complaint we had about the villa is that we did not want to come home. The house is incredibly beautiful. Miguel and his staff treated us royally with fabulous food, drink and always with a smile. We are spreading the word and we will be back soon. "

"This was our second stay at Amapas South and it was, again, fantastic. Lupita's cuisine was even better than we remembered it. Above all: Miguel took great care of us during our stay. He is a real gentleman. Joaquin took the ladies on an afternoon shopping spree. The villa and the people attending it create a wonderful villa vacation experience. "

"Words cannot describe how wonderful our stay was at Villa Amapas South. From the moment we arrived we were "swept away" buy the magnificent landscape just inside the Villas gates. As we ascended down the many stairs and gardens leading to the Villa we were so excited because we knew we would not be disappointed, and trust me we were not. Just inside the beautiful front doors we were stunned by the shear beauty of this place and the beautiful views of the ocean from what seemed liked every corner of the Villa! The furnishings were very truly amazing and the unusual art work was really funky! The staff was superior in every way handling any requests on a moments notice. Miquel was very attentive at all times, he made you feel right at home. Lupita could'nt speak english but said it all with her fabulous cooking! We only wished we had had all of our meals at the Villa. The maid was so sweet and kept the Villa sparkling (which I know was hard with 3 small Children). She always had a smile on her face. Carlos and Pedro keep the pool and the patio area really tidy and we always had a fresh supply of towels. The transportation to and from the airport was very comfortable considering there was 11 of us plus luggage, the driver was very safe and courteous! (we really appreciated that) Over all probably one of our most memorable vacations, and we have traveled quite extensively over the years."
